TECNOCRYO | 22 October 2023
As a Milan based company founded in 1992, TECNOCRYO has been specialising over the years in the design, construction and installations of systems and equipment dedicated to the industrial chain of production and distribution of technical, medical and food gases, as well as renewable energies, specifically in regards to liquefied natural gas (LNG) for motor vehicles and industrial uses. The latter is a sector that, in the last few years, has encountered a considerable growth, and that, in the last few months, has found itself in the midst of a particularly uncertain geopolitical situation.
Tecnocryo offers liquid methane storage systems to energy-intensive companies or those that require a large supply of natural gas. Industries can thus count on two alternatives: on the one hand, methane gas from the national grid and associated with foreign supplies, and on the other, liquefied methane gas (LNG) from other routes (from a parallel and competitive gas market). This not only results in cost savings, but also ensures continuity of energy production for the user company.
More and more customers are therefore relying on Tecnocryo to improve or convert their plants, with companies from all over Europe, particularly from the industrialized countries most affected by the current crisis, such as Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
The Milan-based company constantly invests in research and development, focusing in particular on lines dedicated to equipment such as valves, vaporizers, tanks, and heaters for the cryogenic industry.
Another sector in which Tecnocryo is active is transport, with the construction of pumping systems for the naval world and systems dedicated to the new generation of engines, which use liquid methane instead of traditional petroleum-based fuels.
One of the company’s driving forces is technical and food gases. As engineer Giovanni Donina and company CEO Cristian Riva explain, the European crisis has actually led to a market recovery: increased demand for raw materials and renewable energy has driven growth in the manufacturing industry, increasing demand for technical gases, which are essential for all sectors, from mechanical engineering and electronics to the service industry. Despite the difficult situation with the supply of raw materials, Tecnocryo is able to guarantee its production thanks to heavy investment in the purchase of materials and the expansion of its warehouses.
